Apophenia and Pareidolia

Apophenia is the human tendency to see patterns where there are none; pareidolia, its most visible face — faces in clouds, figures in noise, meaning emerging from randomness.

Statement

Apophenia is the human tendency to see patterns where there are none; pareidolia, its most visible face — faces in clouds, figures in noise, meaning emerging from randomness.

The work investigates perception as an act of creation: the eye does not receive the world, it invents it. In noise, stains, textures and organic forms, the mind insists on finding figures — an ancestral mechanism of survival that turns uncertainty into image.

01 — Text

Between the botanical and the artificial, the pieces explore this threshold where the real dissolves and the imaginary takes form, inviting the viewer to confront their own way of seeing.
